Head of Investments
With expertise in equity analysis and investment management, Adrian is focused on the delivery of strong risk-adjusted returns for clients. Adrian joined Clime Investment Management in 2007 and is now responsible for the management and overall performance of Clime’s investment strategies, representing gross funds under management in excess of $900 million.
Adrian’s role includes the identification and evaluation of investment opportunities across a broad range of asset classes, sectors and market cap segments. His prior investment management roles at Clime have included Analyst, Senior Analyst and Portfolio Manager – Smaller Companies. Adrian was the Founding Portfolio Manager of the Clime Smaller Companies Fund, having seeded the fund and overseen its growth and significant success since inception. He also researched, developed and implemented Clime’s proprietary Quality Score, a quantitative filter used to score and rank equities.
Formal qualifications include a Bachelor of Science from the University of Wollongong, a Graduate Diploma of Applied Finance from Kaplan Professional and a Graduate Certificate of Sports Management from the University of Canberra.
Adrian retains a healthy passion for sport, having previously played cricket in England and locally for Illawarra (Captain), North Sydney (VC), Sutherland, NSW Country & Australian Country.
Ronni founded the business which became CBG and was CIO and owner of the business when it was purchased by Clime in July 2017. Ronni has 35 years’ experience in Portfolio Management, Stock Analysis and asset management businesses including;
- 2001 – 2013 Chief Investment Officer, FSP Equities Management Limited, subsidiary of ANZ
- 2001 – 2003 Investment Director, PSG (Aust) Funds Management Limited, partnership with PSG Investment Group, South Africa’s fifth largest bank.
Ronni’s previous funds management experience includes firms such as Bankers Trust and Oceanic Funds Management before forming PSG. Ronni holds a Bachelor of Commerce and Securities Institute of Australia- International Portfolio Management F Fin
Paul Zwi has more than 20 years varied experience in the investment and financial services industry, with the focus having been on equity research and wealth management opportunities for high net worth clients.
Prior to Clime, Paul’s most recent position was with Centric Wealth, where he spent 5 years as Head of Equity Research and Senior Research Analyst. Prior to Centric, Paul was head of BT’s Private Client business for 5 years, being responsible for a team of Portfolio Managers managing discretionary portfolios of $1.5 billion.
Senior Analyst – Mid-Cap Portfolio Manager
Vincent has 13 years’ experience in the funds management industry as an equities analyst and portfolio manager with Clime, CBGAM and FSP Equities Management. He is responsible for investing in the mid-cap stocks at Clime CBG and analysis of financials and health care companies.
Vincent is a CFA charterholder and holds a Bachelor of Laws, Bachelor of Arts (German) conjoint.
Dr Vincent Chin
Portfolio Manager – Income & Head of Dealing
Vincent joined Clime in February 2009 and is an experienced equity research analyst and a specialist in quantitative analysis and valuation techniques. Before joining Clime, he gained his investment experience with Ausbil Dexia and Maxim Asset Management. Prior to this, Vincent completed 17 years of research and development in the semi-conductor industry.
Vincent’s key responsibilities consist of the dealing and execution of trades, portfolio management – Income Portfolio & Funds and attribution analysis.
Vincent has a PhD Physics, MSc Physics, BSc Chemical Engineering, and F. Fin.
Portfolio Manager – Smaller Companies
Jonathan joined Clime Investment Management in 2014 and is responsible for identifying and evaluating investment opportunities across a range of sectors within the Australian market with a particular focus on smaller companies.
Jonathan is a CFA charterholder and holds a Bachelor of Engineering, Bachelor of Commerce (conjoint) from the Australian National University.
Senior Analyst – Large Cap Portfolio Manager
David joined Clime Investment Management in 2013 and is Clime’s Portfolio Manager for the ASX’s large companies: the ASX 50. He also chairs Clime’s Macro Committee, produces Clime’s economic forecasts and co-manages the Clime Direct ASX Model Portfolio. David frequently represents Clime in the media including regular appearances on ABC The Business, and has a fortnightly column in The Australian. David has over 20 years’ experience in economics, equities research and funds management. After a career in economic forecasting at the Commonwealth Department of Finance David worked in tactical asset allocation for UK and European pension funds at Mercury Asset Management in London. He then returned to Australia to work at Morningstar and its predecessors as a senior analyst covering the banking, insurance, diversified financials and industrials sectors.
David holds a Bachelor of Economics degree from the University of Sydney and a Graduate Diploma in Applied Finance and Investment from Finsia. He is also a Graduate Member of the Australian Institute of Company Directors.
Analyst – Smaller Companies and Dealer
Gareth originally joined Clime Investment Management in 2012 in a client support role for Clime Direct. More recently, he joined at the end of 2014 as an Associate Analyst and is responsible for identifying and researching investment opportunities, specifically in international markets.
Before working at Clime, Gareth worked for 3 years as a broker at Norris Smith Securities. His key responsibilities are dealing on Clime’s managed funds as well as selective qualitative company research.
Gareth is currently completing his B.Comm at the University of New South Wales.
Hugo De Vries
Dealer & Implementation Specialist
Hugo joined Clime Investment Management in February 2017 and has recently taken up the role of Dealer and Implementation Specialist. His responsibilities include the execution and allocation of trades across our growth portfolios.
Hugo currently holds a Bachelor of Commerce from Macquarie University.
